For more than 35 years, Tim Morris has dedicated his life to serving others. His commitment to public service began at just 16 years old when he became a volunteer firefighter in DeSoto Parish. There, he worked alongside fellow first responders, including then-Chief Deputy Ray Sharrow, learning early on the values of service, teamwork, and showing up for people during their most difficult moments.

After proudly serving his country in the United States Army, Tim began his law enforcement career with the Mansfield Police Department in 1993. In 1995, he joined the Minden Police Department as a patrol officer under Chief T.C. Bloxom. Over the next 27 years, he served in nearly every facet of the department, steadily rising through the ranks to Captain under Chief Steve Cropper. Throughout his career, he earned a reputation as a practical, steady leader committed to supporting officers, solving problems, and serving the citizens of Minden with professionalism and integrity.

Tim understands that effective policing extends far beyond enforcing laws. It is about building trust, creating relationships, and ensuring officers have the tools and resources necessary to protect the community. One of his proudest accomplishments came during the challenges that followed the COVID-19 pandemic. When the Minden Police Department faced a severe shortage of patrol vehicles, Tim relied on relationships and professional contacts he had cultivated over decades in public service to help secure eight surplus police vehicles from DeSoto Parish, ensuring officers could continue responding to calls without interruption.

Those professional relationships continued to benefit the department. Working with DeSoto Parish Sheriff Jayson Richardson, the newly elected President of the Louisiana Sheriffs' Association, Tim helped position the Minden Police Department to piggyback on DeSoto Parish's fleet purchase program during a time when supply chain shortages made obtaining new patrol vehicles especially difficult. Those opportunities existed because of relationships built over a lifetime of service. The newer Chevrolet Tahoe patrol units seen on Minden's streets today are a testament to Tim's ability to leverage decades of professional contacts, regional partnerships, and available resources for the benefit of his department and his community.

A resident of Minden for more than 30 years, Tim has raised his family here, built lifelong friendships here, and invested his entire law enforcement career in protecting this community. He believes the Minden Police Department should be a source of pride for every citizen and that strong leadership is rooted in professionalism, accountability, transparency, and service.

Throughout his career, Tim has remained actively involved in numerous professional and civic organizations. His memberships include the National Rifle Association, the Louisiana Fraternal Order of Police, the National Fraternal Order of Police, the American Legion, and the Krewe of Elders, among many others. These affiliations reflect his commitment to professional development, community engagement, and maintaining relationships that strengthen both law enforcement and the communities it serves.

As Chief of Police, Tim's priorities are clear: restore morale within the department, recruit and retain quality officers, foster positive relationships with city leadership and community partners, and strengthen trust between law enforcement and the citizens they serve. He believes effective policing is built on visibility, prevention, communication, and partnerships with neighborhoods, schools, churches, businesses, and local organizations.

Tim Morris isn't seeking this office as a stepping stone. He is seeking it because he loves Minden and believes in its future. He brings more than three decades of law enforcement experience, a lifetime of service, and an extensive network of professional contacts and resources developed throughout Louisiana and beyond. Most importantly, he brings a servant's heart and a steadfast commitment to ensuring the Minden Police Department remains an agency that protects with professionalism, serves with integrity, and earns the trust of every citizen it is sworn to protect.
